In spite of the advances made in agriculture, many people around the world still go hungry.
Why is this the case?
What can be done about this problem?

Despite multiple developments happened in the farming sector, a higher number of individuals are suffering from hunger. In my view, the main reason for this occurrence is the rise in the food wastage, and the implementation of serious financial penalties against this would be the most viable solution.

People in many countries today are feeling the scarcity of food as the wastage of food has been on the rise in the past few years. It has been seen that a large amount of food is getting discarded by people on multiple occasions, such as family parties, wedding ceremonies, or other celebrations. This has led to people not getting enough food to eat in some parts of the world, or they had to pay a huge amount of money, which they could not afford, for purchasing a small quantity of food. A recent survey, for example, has found that the food wastage in developed countries has risen by 10% since 2014, and at the same time about 15% of people died off due to hunger in this period.

I think state authorities should impose stringent penalties to prevent this issue. If people had to pay large sums of money as a punishment for wasting just a small amount of food, they would become more cautious when they prepare meals or order food from restaurants. Not only this, but they would also plan the quantity of food very carefully for their events to make minimal or no loss. Per new law of Vadodara State Government, for instance, people have to pay 10% extra money of their food bills as a fine if they leave even a tiny quantity of meal in their dishes.

In conclusion, the growing food wastage is the primary reason why people around the world have to suffer from the scarcity of food, and this can be prevented by enforcing strict financial punishments against the food wastage.

Despite multiple developments happened in the farming sector, a higher number of individuals are suffering from hunger.['Individuals' is not a universal substitute for people. -> "Proportion of the world population" ] In my view, the main reason for this occurrence is the rise in the food wastage, and the implementation of serious financial penalties against this would be the most viable solution.

People in many countries today are feeling [experiencing food scarcity?] the scarcity of food as the wastage of food has been on the rise in the past few years. [Noticeable repetition of same ideas] A recent survey, for example, has found that the food wastage in developed countries has risen by 10% since 2014, and at the same time about 15% of people died off ['died off' would suggest extinction in this context.]due to hunger in this period. [I'm not sure whether the examiner would be favorably impressed by seemingly invented statistics: the instructions usually ask for support "from your own experience".]

In conclusion, the growing food wastage [Unfortunately "growing food" misleads the reader. -> the rise in food wastage] is the primary reason why people around the world have to suffer from the scarcity of food, and this can be prevented by enforcing strict financial punishments against the food wastage.

[So issues with agricultural production such as drought, political unrest, and overpopulation, have little to do with undernourishment? The biggest famine in recent history occurred in China as part of forced collectivization of farms in the 1950. Perhaps 45 million people died.]

Thanks Lolita for highly valuable response.
