The expression about the different age groups:
in the youngest age category
in the 35 to 44 age group
between the ages of 25 and 44,
between the ages of 45 and 64,
women and men aged 65 and over

The alternative expression of the phrase "did regular physical activity":
do some kind of routine physical activity
did the least physical activity
did regular physical activity
did some form of regular exercise
were physically active
were the most physically active
were much less active than
exercised regularly
active females
the figure for male physical activity

The comparation between men and women:
were the most; did the least
almost 53% of men but only 47.7% of women
were much less active on average than
a mere 39.5% of males~~~compared to 52.5% of females
the figure for male~~~while the propotion of active females
remained around 8% higher, at 53%
were identical, at approximately 47%

This can result in a negative WORKING ENVIRONMENT.

is it possible to omit 'their' in writing? I noticed that I tend to use ' their' a lot! their children, their parents, their work, their daily work.
can I remove it ?

Parents do not know when their children play.
parents do not know when children play.

The second sentence suggests children in general. See similar examples here:
