I feel much easy when I practice on this site for some specific problems in terms of reading. But I don't know what happens during the real exam. I mean mock test. I cannot sore score more than 6 to 6.5.

Hi
the answers are :
1- False
2-True
3- Not Given
4- Not Given
5- True

The reason why I have chosen Not given for number 4 : the ability to non verbally communicate an object by extending a finger, or equivalent/ in the text we have to communicate an object and It is not utterly clear. Generally, I wrote not given as I thought it may not cover human, but I am double-minded about my answer because sometimes In some IELTS reading questions, they use generalization technique and I hope Mr.Simon will explain about this matter a bit more which really puts us into trouble esp in T/F/NG questions. Looking forward to seeing Mr.Simon s Answers in details.
Thanks and Regards

of course considering the last paragraph :mahout (elephant trainer) the answer can be true as Trainers give elephants instructions and they follow the orders .

Thanks, Simon!
I found that is is much more difficult when it comes to T/F/NG questions in a long passage like the real IELTS test. I feel like I get lost, so hard to know where I would find the relevant info.

The same to matching questions though. Some passages in Cambridge IELTS test have only matching questions (correct headings for paragraphs) and T/F/NG (or Y/N/NG) questions. I get lost and confused (and make many wrong choices) all the time.

Thank you sir Simon, but what about 2 mistake Writing module task 1 answers for previous question?

1 F (is about mass ,but not size)
2 T (resembles)
3 NG (manifest not copying , no mention of human)
4 T(understand pointing:the ability to nonverbally)
5 T(altruistic.in India,an elephant was helping ………..)

1 F - a whale'brain double elephant's brain
2 T - resebles = similar to
3 NG - No copy
4 T - nonverbally
5 T - altruistic - when a dog is sleeping, an elephant wait the dog go away and low the log.

Hi Simon,

I am confused of the answer to question 5. ""The story about an elephant in India is an example of altruism."". Does "the story"here refer to the whole article (all 3 paragraphs) or the last paragraph only? That is because I could not see the whole story talking about An elephant in India is an example of altruism. Only the last paragraph is about it. Please give some explaination. Thank you
Sen
