why in the conclusion the writer's position is not mentioned in simple way like I believe or in my opinion.....The above conclusion seems like discussion essay.

he has already given his position in the introduction, so in conclusion, you may either make it simple without addressing your opinion again or you can repeat it.

A is next to B.

should be there a gap between A and B (are they touching)?

When we say next to 'B', which one is correct? A or C?

|A|B| |C|

A person’s worth nowadays seems to be judged according to social status and material possessions. Old fashioned values such as honor, kindness, and trust no longer seem important.
To what extent do you agree or disagree?

It is often argued by some that, in recent the times, most humans are valued based on their identity in society and the money as well as the luxurious lifestyle they have, and hence traditional values are not essential. While I agree with the former view, I tend to disagree with the letter view because I believe that old values are significantly important in the current modern life.

There is no doubt that rich people are undoubtedly respected by a large number of people in our society. A good example of this is Mr. Anil Ambani who is the owner of the Reliance business for around 15 years now. I really doubt whether any Indian resident does not know him or heard about him, and this is primarily due to that fact that Mr. Ambani is the richest man in India, and possess the wealthiest lifestyle. Conversely, I am pretty sure that no one in our society would give respect to a person, who lives below the poverty line, as much as they give to the richest people of our nation.

On the other hand, I do not support the assertion that old-fashioned values are not necessary. This is because they have been used by many successful people for many years, and, even today, most people give full credit to these values for whatever they achieved in their lives and for their better relations with others. Many multinational employers, for instance, focus on candidates' values, such as honesty, loyalty and work ethics, over the education and the work experience they possess while selecting them. In my view, rich people having good qualities are getting higher respect in our society.

In conclusion, although it is true that many people are judged by others according to their social and financial status in society, I do not see a point in believing that traditional values, therefore, are not essential.

I've heard that a complete paragraph must includes at least 2 sentences. So I wonder whether your one-sentence style is acceptable.

Hieu Huynh

The marking schemata for Band 7/8 simply state:
- presents a clear central topic within each paragraph;
- logically organizes information and ideas; there is clear progression throughout;
- uses paragraphing sufficiently and appropriately;

Although body paragraphs would contain more than one sentence, conclusions are simply a summary of what has already been said, and that is the criterion, not how many sentences.

This is how I wrote my Task 2 on 09.02.2019
I'd be very grateful if someone assess it.

People have different views about public libraries. While some people think that public libraries are outdated, others feel that they are still do an important task. In my opinion, public libraries are essential not only for students, but also for other members of communities.

There are a growing number of people who believe that public libraries should be closed, meaning that they are unnecessary and outdated. They have reason to believe that libraries are no longer needed as the Internet offers any kind of information to those who want to read and study. Maintenance and repair services cost of libraries is very high for local communities’ budget. This could be another reason why people believe that public libraries are not necessary nowadays. According to the most comprehensive analysis up to date, administrative, overhead and personnel costs of public libraries consist of roughly one sixth of budget of local communities.

However, we should not forget that libraries perform important tasks. A peaceful and quite atmosphere created there encourages everyone to study and read books. During my studies at the University of Edinburgh, for example, I was inspired by the calm atmosphere and supporting personnel working there. In addition, these days many libraries are equipped with various solutions of modern education system not only for students, but also for people with disabilities. In my view, there could be no any other strong argument to support those who believe that libraries are still necessary and do an important job.

In conclusion, although many people are against of libraries due to general and financial reasons, I believe that public libraries are necessary as they provide a studying atmosphere for every member of the communities.

Dear Simon,

I'm looking at the Writing Task 2 Sample Model answer for Practice Test on official British Council Page. I wonder why the Question required "include relevant example from your experience", but in the Model answer I did not see the writer's own example. Please help me to clarify if possible. Here are the links:

I hope that you can answer me before my test day, which is next Monday.

Thank you for your time,

Hi Simon,

Is it ok if I use "however" in my conclusion when I agree with both views in my introduction?

For example:
- In my introduction: While I agree that some of individuals'hobbies are just in short term, I should also say that there are many people choose leisure activities depended on their personality.

- My conclusion: In conclusion, it seems to me that some people spend their time to do trendy activities. However, there are many people do what are their real interests.
