It is not uncommon to follow 'nowadays' with 'however', which suggests that it is commonly used when comparing past with present.

Hello, Simon. I have already purchased all your writing task 2 videos through PayPal. But how can I get access to it? I refreshed the webpage, but the purchase button was still there instead of the view button. I checked my PayPal account and the money was already paid from my card.

Hi Maya,

You need to check your email. You should have received a username and password, and you'll need those to log on.

I got it. Thanks, Simon.

Are these questions thes same?

Dear MR. IELTS :)

I really need your help. I have taken IELTS three times before, and all sections have been scored above 7 except writing. My writing score has been maximum 6. I have to get a score 7 in writing . I am taking private classes for writing part and my tutor gave me a feedback that I should develop my ideas more, but unfortunately he cannot teach me how. Could you please advise that how can I work on it ? How can I practice and improve this skill ?

Thank you in advance !!

a) Background reading and listening on IELTS topics should help provide some ideas, and material for examples.

b) I would look at all the questions in the Cambridge series and plan (but not write) your answer, googling around to find relevant articles and information, and making sure you acquire the topic vocabulary and collocations.

c) Try being very flexible in your stance. Plan essays from both extremes, changing your point of view to suit various examples. Whether it is really what you believe is irrelevant.

d) In the main body paragraphs, get into the habit of explaining why you believe. At the end of every sentence stop and ask yourself why is this true, why do I believe it. And then explain why in the next sentence.

hello Simon,

thank you in advance.
