True, i have been putting in 1 hr per day listening to BBC podcasts, Ted-Ed videos and my listening has improved drastically. Your strategy of underlining keywords especially for multiple choice questions has helped me immensely and i'm sure that i will score an 8 in the exam that i recently gave.
Your lessons are what i look out for each day!!

Listening to BBC world service is becoming my everyday habit. I put on earphone when walking on the street or sitting to wait, turning on radio when taking meal. YouTube open another way to get information about the outside world. BBC and YouTube is more about keeping up with latest news and progress than practicing listening ability. They are part of my daily life.

hey, how can i be subscribed to this site?

Thank you for sharing, Simon.

This is an interesting topic, and it made me think of something else.

I was thinking that there probably is no direct connection between practicing listening and getting a good score in IELTS listening. The reason I am saying this is that I do not have to catch the whole conversation to fill in the blanks. Sometimes I didn't even know what exactly they were talking about but still was able to answer it correctly.

For sure this will not work with the dialogues in our daily life. Most of the time, we will have to understand the conversation to give our response. But, in terms of IELTS, probably strategic skills and an efficient command of the language are enough.

I always think that an exam-oriented practice would never truly help us improve our ability of the subject, neither could it assess our true level at it.

hi simon
for the speaking module , how could i put in the hours , in a practical way ?

NB: i have no speaking partner , so i follow on a self-practice method .
thank you .

Hi dear Simon

I have a question from your essays. Should we write in some way or in some ways? You wrote both of them.

1. While in some ways it may seem reasonable to allow people to earn as much as companies are willing to pay.

2. In most communities there are people who are impoverished and disadvantaged in some way.

thank you, simon.
i often listen to english on youtube and i only watch short videos (2-5 minutes per video). but i feel i get some difficultly to catch key words when i listen to them.
could you give me some advise, please.

I have no adequate word in this moment to say thank you.

13hours 30mins i kept listening myself in an week.
