Why is it disappear and not disappears?
Another question please, in speaking part, if the cue card contains something like describe a museum in your home town but i had never been to one in my home town, instead i have been living in London for five years and have been to several museums, can I say that I had never been to any in my home town , but I have to one in Lindon and describe it? How does that affect the score?
Thanks and regards.

That is so true..
in my case become too nervous that sometime i start shivering
.. this exam ll make me pcyco :(

I have another question please, can I describe a museum which dates fromm 200 years if the question is to describe a historical place which I have visited or should it be older than that?

lana

There is NO task response in speaking, so it doesn't really matter what you say, as long as it is related to the topic and it is coherent. If you started by describing a museum in London, then it would not be very coherent as the examiner is expecting something in your hometown, and this would affect the fluency score. However, if you quickly say that you have never been to a museum in your hometown and then describe one in London then this is fully coherent and will not affect your score negatively.

Again, it is not important how old a building is. 'Historical' means 'related to the past' so anything that is not modern would be fine.

I am waiting for the result. Time has run slowly for the 2 past weeks :)

Aman,
this months I started preparing for speakung part fo rthe first time, and because you still have time I will tell you my approach which will take you at most one month, but after that you will be more confident for that part(of course it depends on what time you have ever day to do what I will told you, to me I studay almost five hours a day). My approach is as following, I went to speaking category here, and then I went to the first speaking post.I strates reading the posts which are about part 1 from the beginning of this blog until now, I write tge question in my note book and I read the answer Sumon provided, if the answer is relevant to me I just note it down, if not, i write my own answer and sometimes I read the comments and got some Ideas. When I finished part 1 posts, I went again to the beginning to do the same for part 2 and part three, doing that for part 2 was not easy and took ten days at least because many of the sample answers Simon provided were not relevant to me , I mean for example, for my favourite building or film , Simon talked about something which I didnt know , and here I had two options either to study his samples and in this case that will take huge amount of time before exam to revise, the other option is to write my own samples, that was not easy at all because sometimes i had no idea about the topic and for most topics I search then on google to get ideas, but I still steal ideas and vocabularies from Simon.but that way and because my samples are mine they will take very little time before exam to revise.I found a blog which is called ielts-mentor which covers all the topics you need, just write for example (describe a person you admire ielts-mintor)in google and you will see the link open it and read the sample, it might be suitabke for you or you will definitely get lots of ideas.
If you have a friend or a teacher who can check what you wrote, that would be even better, and if not, that is the best way I found to prepare for speaking part. Of course , after I finish writing all my samples I will practise them. You will read lots of tips Simon gave while you surfimg speaking section.
Regarding writing, as Simon said, the best way is to have a tracher to check you work, otherwise the second best way is to study Simon's essays in detail, i mean to see how he structure his essays and how he develops each idea so that it becomes deeper.
I hope that helps
Wish you the best of luck

Sorry for many mistakes as I wrote from my phone.

Hi lana ,
Thanks a lot .. For telling me your approach ... I will definitely follow your advice and I hope I will make it ....
Good luck fr your exam too and once again thank you ....

Lana

I hope you`ll get the best score.

Hi,simon

I took the speaking test this morning in China.

In part 2, I was asked to describe a occasion that I forgot to do something. then the first question in part 3 was "what do people generally forget to do when at home?". I asked what people forget at home, and I eventually didn't answer the question correctly. I said I am sorry to remember something like that. the examier said there can be something like forget to turn off the water or the light..

Would it influence my grade seriously? So I was stunk at that moment.

No problem Aman and Anahita, just I am so sorry for all those grammar and spelling mistakes.
Good luck to both of you.thanks

For me, I would never get nervous if the exam fee can be reduced to a more acceptable level.
