Hello Sachin
I don't advise you to remark ur writing test, it is a waste of both time and money and it is better to retake the exam.If u already applied for remark then don't hesitate to apply also to retake the exam especially if time is important to you.

Never, overwrite ur essays, as the more you write the more mistakesis are likely to happen particularly pertaining to spelling and grammar.
I just realized about 2 days ago as I was thinking back that I completely misunderstood the question. I over-analyzed at that point, I guess. My results comes out tomorrow. Thank you. :)
hi simon
i have just recived my score L:6.5 R:6 W:6 S:6.5 overall 6.5
it was worse than last time.it was R:7 S:7
i didnt improve in writing.though,i read all your ebook and used the vocublary too.
I needed a 7 in all bands and I'm delighted that my essay, even though it was completely off-topic, still got the score I needed. I didn't take any review classes, I just read through this website for 3 weeks and it helped me greatly. Thank you, Simon for the wonderful work that you do. And good luck to future test takers. :)
Hi there,
I have just taken the IELTS test in the UK- Bangor centre. I want to share writing and speaking questions.
Firstly, in task one we have given two bar charts about the average number of vacation days per year in five European countries which were Germany, Denmark, France, Ireland and England, and another chart was about working hours in those countries per year. The second task was about Media coverage of violent crime and its impact on us; some people believe that it should be banned. To what extent do you agree or disagree? ( the question was not exactly the same with which I wrote, but the idea is the same).
In terms of speaking test, my first part was about my subject in a university and why I have chosen it, and some questions in this area were asked. The second part I have been asked to describe a street in my hometown which I like, where it is, who live there, and why I like it? In the third part there were some questions about other streets in my hometown, disadvantages of overcrowded cities, involving in our local society, what should we do? Is there any kind of obligations about that?
Overall, hopefully I think this time I did all parts quite good, good luck to others.
Many thanks to Simon and his useful tips and ideas which I have got from his website and his informative E-BOOK, I strongly suggest all students to follow his daily lessons and buy his E-BOOK. If do that, I am sure you will get your target soon.
Kind regards,
HEMN MERANY

hi simon, today i just appear the exam in Riyadh.listening, reading, writing were ok but i am not satisfied with speaking.my topic was describe a special meal for lunch or dinner..i cant speak upto 2 minute and i got bit nervous.pls pray for me that i can achieve score atleast 7.your site is wonderful specially for writting task-2,it helped me a lot.thanks
I am sad that i got disappointed score, but that was my first test and i realized the mistakes which i done. I am going to write the exam again on 26 May. Hopefully, this time i will do better and get the score i needed.
I was so nervous while my speaking test, because of that i haven't done my best. Anyway, that was the good experience for me.
Thanks simon for this great website. This website is great source for learning.
Prison is the most common solution to the problem of crime. However, some people argue that better education should be provided to minimize the criminals.
To what extent do you agree or disagree?
Hello everybody!
My exam was on 12/5.
I can not remember any about listening, reading.
Speaking card topic was about ( a situation in your life that made laugh from your heart. what is the occasion, when was that, who witnessed it with you, and why it made you laugh.)
then , i have been asked about comedy, and what is the importance of it in your country, which comedy show or shows are famous in your country. Do men are different than women in telling jokes or comedy, what and how is the difference .
writing task 1 was 2 bar charts comparing the average number days for holidays and the average working hours in 5 different countries in Europe.
task 2 / was about (Media coverage about crimes can frighten people and encourage criminals to do more crimes , do you agree or disagree........
1. question about my full name, so what I can call you in short, where are you from, what color you like to decorate your room, except you what color your friends like, are you studying or doing job, how you pick this course, what is your plan in the feature.
Que Card Session:
2. Topic >>> Describe a Person ?
.who is he ?
.how he become successful?
.how you come to know about him?
Long discussion Session:
3. Question related celebrity life style:
In your country, how an ordinary person become celebrity, compare the difference between past celebrities and recent one (what changes you can see), in your country have some one like politician moved to become celebrity, how the media influence on celebrities in what ways, what are the negative point of celebrities.
Writing Topic Task1:
The given chart shows average number of hours teaching annually done by teachers in different schools (Primary, Secondary, Upper secondary) in four countries Japan, Spain, Iceland and USA in 2001.
Writing Topic Task2:
The range and quality of food to buy is changed because of technological and scientific advances. Some people regard it as an improvement while others believe that the change is harmful. Discuss both views and give your own opinion.
Listening Section was the toughest not to me but to other candidates as well. but reading seem to me fair enough but if someone knows how to manage the time.
I would like you Simon to please write some short idea's about the this topic, its to be noted that most of the pupils who attended the test was confused with the topic including me, I want you to share your ideas not in detail but a few words would be beneficial.
I just at your website today. I think it will be very helpful for me to practice for the IELTS exam. I recently took the test and I got this score L-6,R-6,W-7,S-6.
Simon, My question is that I have prepared a lot for the exam for reading section and I think I remember I have got most of them right but I don't know why I got 6 in reading section.
It's difficult for me to help you because I don't know what your individual problems are. It would be a good idea to take a few lessons with a private teacher who can analyse what you are doing wrong.
I need a 7 overall. I dont know if I should ask for a revision of the exam in listening and writing. My speaking usually is better than 5.5 but because of I was so nervous and the kind of question the examiner asked to me it was no good, anyway I was hoping for a better score.
What do you think about the revision?
I'm afraid I don't think you will benefit from a re-mark. Listening answers are either right or wrong, so your score is unlikely to change. I think you'll have to try again. Sorry.

Hello Simon,
I was just wondering, will my score be automatically less than a band 7 if I went off-topic in Writing Task 2?
Posted by: nadz | Wednesday, May 09, 2012 at 11:22
Hi Nadz,
Not automatically, but it won't help. The rest of your essay would need to be good.
