1.There are many quiet places to mention, but now I am gonna tell you about a book center at the downtown which I found the best silent place for me .I have heard many postive feedbacks about this place, but I have never visited it before. Once I visited it, actually it was about a month ago with my friends to see it, I have got much more positive feelings than I expected. The reason why I like it is that the atmosphere of this place lure u to study. There are different kinds of book u can find to read there, such as historical, science, and the like. Moreover, everyone learns something there or just read new book as result all participants should keep silence and respect them. Therefore, I consider this place quite silent to get away of everything, relax and of course to read something new.

Hi Simon
I just finished my speaking exam but during the last part of the exam she stopped me because the time finished.
Will i lose marks because We were not able to go through the rest of part 3 questions?😭
She only asked me four of part 3 questions

Interesting questions! I will reply soon.

There are a plenty of quiet places to visit, but I am going to tell you about my recent experience. Two months ago i had the chance to visit one of the most ancient monasteries in Egypt. It is quite far away from i live ,so i had the chance to fulfill my passion about old places and travelling at the same time . what i loved the most about this monastery is the silence and monks attitude..They are very polite and quiet people . It was a marvelous experience that I wish I could repeat it soon .

Just ask a question. Is the sentence "Car is a great invention" right? Because the term car is a countable noun. But I just only want to generally refer to this creature rather than a specific car.so I don't think using a car, cars or the car is right.

NuhaNaser

The test has to finish at a certain time, so it's common for the examiner to interrupt you. You are not penalised for not finishing an answer.

Part 3 must be between 4 and 5 minutes. If she only asked you four questions, it was because your answers were quite long.

He

We would normally say 'the car is a great invention' (or 'the car was a great invention', because the invention of the car was quite a long time ago). You could also use the plural 'Cars are/were a great invention'. When you want to refer to something countable generally, use the plural.

Describe a quiet place that you visited

Ok, frankly, this topic has a practical meaning to me. Because in the past two months, I have been preparing myself for the IELTS test, so I indeed needed a quiet place to read books and listen to English audios.

This quiet place I want to talk about is the study room of a public library which is in the downtown area of my city. The library is situated at the intersection of Shuguang road and Huanglong road. The location of the library is great, although it is a little far away from my home, it is convenient for me to get there by bus every day in the morning, at around 9.00 am.

The study room is on the first floor of the library. It is a big room which can accommodate at least 3 hundred readers at the same time, I suppose. Although the chairs, desks and bookshelves are old and a little shabby, it doesn't affect people' s enthusiasm to go there for reading books. Consequently, sometimes it is hard to find a vacant seat because of so many people there, many of who are regular visitors.

The reason why I wanted to go to the study room was that it was very quiet and meanwhile because of many people there, this place had a good atmosphere for study. By the way, I don't want to stay in a big and empty room with the feeling of loneliness. In addition, As I said, overall, the facilities there are really not modern because it is an old library, but it is located in a lively area, so you can easily get what you want in terms of life necessities.

At last, I feel that the staff are quite responsible and everything in this library is in order, that's the reason why there is a quiet and comfortable atmosphere for learning in a vibrant commercial area.

Describe a time when you were scared. You should say

OK, I am going to talk about an experience of mine about taking an elevator. I guess you might have gotten what had happened to me since I said the term elevator. Yes, It was a horrible experience about a free-falling elevator in which there were me and three other people.

It happened in an afternoon five years ago, not long after my graduation from university. Because I was finding a job during that time, so I often went to various office buildings to attend job interviews. That day was a sunny day, very hot, although I cannot remember the specific date.

I had a job interview at 3 pm. The company in which I applied for a position was located on the 20th floor of a modern office building which was in the downtown area of my city. After finishing the interview, I just walked into an elevator to go down to the ground floor to go home.

Initially, everything was ok, no special. But when the elevator car got to the 10th floor, it began to shake and the overhead lights flickered a few times. I did not know what had happened. I just quickly pressed several call buttons by instinct to try to stop the elevator. Suddenly, I felt the elevator car was falling quickly, which was obviously different from the state of a normal elevator descending. Because everything happened so suddenly, everybody was scared to death and nearly forgot to shout out at that time, let alone doing something useful. Of course, we indeed had nothing to do at that moment, I suppose.

Fortunately, the free-falling state just existed very shortly, maybe 2 or 3 seconds. I was not sure. But I distinctly felt that the speed of the elevator car decreased quickly and eventually the elevator stopped on the 6th floor, and we 4 dashed out of the elevator car. Thank goodness. 6 was always my lucky number.

I want to say the situation when you stay in a free-falling elevator is equivalent to the situation when you are confronted by a falling wall. So perhaps what you can do is to choose to work at a company which is located on the ground floor. However, I am just kidding.

1. Describe a quiet place that you visited. You should say
- where it was
- when you went there
- what you did there
- and explain why it was so quiet

a quiet place I would like to talk about was a church. That was 20 mins driving from my home. I remember I went there last month on Sunday. That's my first time visited church. One of my friends invited me there for pray. As you know, every one was concentrating on pray at that time so it was very quiet.

2. Describe a time when you were scared. You should say
- when it happened
- where you were
- why you were frightened
- and explain how you felt after this experience

That scared moment happened last night when I was at home, and I remember I was surfing on the internet, and listening the music with earphones at that moment. Suddenly some one knocked my door fiercely. It made nervous because I had no idea what was happening. I was scared to open the door for the security purpose. Later he told me over the window next to the door that he was my neighbour, need my phone to make a call for help. Because he was locked outside of the house with keys left at home.

3. Describe something that a friend has done but you haven't done. Say

- what your friend did
- where and when your friend did this
- how you felt about your friend's experience
- and explain why you would (or wouldn't) like to do what your friend did

My friend has done one thing amazingly. He worked hard at the Gym last year, and has 6 packs now. his experience told me that nothing can be easily achieved, you must be determined, persistent in order to succeed. definitely I want to do that as my friend did. Reason is simple, because I want to be a muscle man.

Describe something that a friend has done but you haven't done

Ok, to be honest, this topic just reminds me of something which hurt me a bit recently. It was about building muscle. Let me first introduce my friend. Johnny, a male, 35 years old, is my good friend, my former university classmate and my workout partner. Now he is married, have a 5-year-old daughter and a happy family, is working at a commercial bank as an investment manager, it is definitely a well-paid job.

After our graduation from university, we have been living in the same residence community. So we often got together to drink coffee, play football, work out in a gym or go fishing. Anyway, for both of us, working out is the number one sport and hobby. Because we are the men who are willing to stick to doing some boring things which need doers to be patient enough to make progress.

However, although we insist on doing workout 5 times a week and we indeed have thick arms, wide shoulders and ripped backs, both of us don't have impressive abdominals. Because technically, abdominals are not the muscles you can build up. Instead, the most important thing you need to do in terms of getting abdominals is to regulate your diet, such as eating less oil and stopping drinking.

We ultimately decided to manage our diet to overcome this difficulty. Franky, Johnny is a crazy guy with great self-control. But I am not, I am a real foodie, like beer. I can't live without beer. So just one and a half month after we made this determination, six-pack abs emerged on him, not me, which really frustrated me. But, in fact, I know the frustration comes more from hating my weak self-control than envying him. Anyway, if I can choose one between abs and beer, I would like to say: let these abdominals go to hell.

1. Describe a quiet place that you visited. You should say

- where it was
- when you went there
- what you did there
- and explain why it was so quiet

Among the many quiet places I have been in my life, I want to talk about a place I went before 20 years ago. Actually, me with my two younger brothers were studying at school that time and the school was off for some days due to Eid. So my parents decided to take us to the village home to celebrate the Eid with our grandparents, uncles and aunties, who used to live there in the village home. But unfortunately my father had some business work during the day we planned to go there. Consecutively we missed to start our journey early. However, as the Eid day was just in the morning of the next day, my father wanted to take us at night. Then we started our journey at night, consequently we reached the home very late and there was no electricity at that time so everybody just went asleep. That's why it was completely pin-drop silence and we did not disturb others. We just freshened ourselves from washroom, and felt asleep like others.

Sir,it is useful to make a short introduction on cue card topic .

2. Describe a time when you were scared. You should say

- when it happened
- where you were
- why you were frightened
- and explain how you felt after this experience.

There are many scary moments I faced in my life, but I want to talk about a day when I was really very scared. Actually I was going to attend a marriage ceremony with my friends 5 years ago and it was a marriage ceremony of my another friend. The day was a strike day for the vehicles, that's why we could not get the vehicle we wanted. So we needed to hire a private car and then we were heading towards the centre where everybody was assembling for the marriage ceremony. Unfortunately on our way we faced some of the strikere trying to throw stones towards our vehicle. I was lucky enough that I was not got heart but it was two of my friends who got severely injured and we needed to take them to the hospital straight away. when I saw the blood falling down from my friends' body, I almost fainted. But I tried to keep me strong. From that day I promised that I would never go to any program during strike. I really think that government should take steps to reduce the chance of harm to the general people in the road.

3. Describe something that a friend has done but you haven't done. Say

- what your friend did
- where and when your friend did this
- how you felt about your friend's experience
- and explain why you would (or wouldn't) like to do what your friend did.

Actually there are many things what my friends have done but I have not. Out of them I want to talk about one thing that one of my frineds did. I remember that my parents wanted me to be a doctor in medical science. So after completing my higher secondary, I needed to get admission in a government Medical College and as in our country there is a huge competition to get admitted in any government medical college during that time. But I was just distracted from the study for some days to enjoy my vacation . That's why I could not prepare myself so then consequently I could not secure place in Government Medical College and to study in a private medical college was not possible for me due to my financial situation at that time. But one of my friends secured his place in a government medical college. I am very proud of him. He is my close friend. I remember we finished higher secondary almost 10 years, when he could get himself enrolled in a medical college as a student. Right now he is a doctor and he has been serving patients from different parts of the country so I think the experience he had is really amazing because helping people to develop health condition is a top task no doubt. However, I never want to be like him because I believe that everybody has got their different specialities in different sectors. I am happy with whatever I have done.
