* doesn't listen (sorry)

Dear Simon,
I'm so confused!!
Would you help me so I (do/can do/ could do/would do/will do)

Hi

Which is correct?

In a restaurant

Or

At a restaurant

I always use at but I have heard numerous people use in.

Thanks in advance

I am going to describe an unforgettable service I had last week.

Last Monday, I went to Taipei for a book fair with my friend Jack. After that, we dropped by a second-hand bookshop which features a wide collection of novels in the early 20th century. I am a big fan of the literature at the time, so it is the pilgrimage for me.

After searching for one best-selling novel for 20 minutes, I gave up and told the staff the book I wold like to buy. Much to my surprise, they asked all the available staffs to help me look for it. Luckily, they eventually found the book, and I felt very touched and admired their service because of two reasons.

First, it is time-consuming to find a book in such a huge complex. They spent 40 minutes in total.

Second, I only needed one book, and they were still willing to do me a favor.

For me, their service is impeccable and impressive.

Last Monday, I went to Taipei for a book fair with my friend Jack. After that, we dropped by a second-hand bookshop which features a wide collection of novels in the early 20th century. I am a big fan of the literature at the time, so the bookstore is the pilgrimage for me.

When I entered, I was soon fascinated by their design and the sea of books. Then I started to search a blockbuster novel; unfortunately, I did not find it. I gave up and walked to the counter to ask for help. Much to my surprise, they asked all the available staffs to help me look for it. Luckily, they eventually found the book, and I felt very touched and admired their service because of two reasons.

First, it is time-consuming to find a book in such a huge complex. The whole bookstore is about 400 square meter that it is less likely to find without a digital label. They finally spent 40 minutes in total finding the book.

Second, I only needed one book, and they were still willing to do me a favor. It sounds very incredible as it is full of worldwide visitors all the time. There are only ten full-time staffs, and they ask five of them to execute the impossible mission.

For me, their service is impeccable and sophisticated, and it reminds me their mantra banner displayed at the main entrance, "We are not selling books, we are selling an unforgettable experience."

Is it correct to use two "there" in the sentence below:
There were about ten of us there

Angela,

Yes, because the two uses of "there" are different. The first "there" belongs to the phrase "there is / there are / there was / there were", whereas the second "there" refers to a place.

Here's a simple example using two separate sentences:

1. There is a nice restaurant in my town.
2. I like to go there.

Can you see the difference?

I would like to share with you one of my experience with my favourite cafe.I often go there in my spare time.
The cafe supplies suitable places to meet the variety of demands. For example meeting rooms for small groups to discuss or chit chatting, reading rooms for people need quiet atmosphere, large balcony and terrace to enjoy the fresh air.
Last birthday, I invited several close friends to the cafe. The foods and drinks were so delicious. The services were perfect. The staffs were so friendly, helpful and approachable. They serve with their smile which made us feel welcomed and inviting while the manager kept checking whether we were happy with everything. By the way, I especially like the decoration with hanging garden on the wall. It brings the feeling of refresh which is opposite to the noise of the city.
The cafe is alway the ideal destination to relax, enjoy good food and excellent services

Kiven, you are out of the topic. The question is "Describe a time when you received good service in a restaurant or cafe", and you describe a good service you received on a book shop. that is obviously considered an off topic and reduce your score instantly.

Hey Simon, if my topic is to describe a good service from a shop or or company. Can I talk about a restaurant like this one? I was wondering: restaurant is equivalent with shop or company? yes?
