Recent speaking test

In some countries many parents are interested in home schooling and the trend is gaining popularity. Do the advantages of this outweigh disadvantages?

Hi,

Simon

Can we add in speaking the marriage celebration and then one insidance with some funny thing happen and that make every buddy laugh or I have to give another example plz let me know

To be in line with (in agreement), Technologically marvel( technologically incredible), while fortnight(two weeks), refurbished(renovate, revamp, a face lift)

Hello Simon, if I am correct fortnight is a period of two weeks but it refers to the salary you get every two weeks not monthly in spanish we say "quincena".
Can you still use this word to talk about any period of two weeks?

Rupeshkumar,

Yes, that would be fine.

...

LauraF,

"Fortnight" is a general way of saying "2 weeks". It doesn't make me think of salaries.

hi Simon, I have come with the following questions when doing listening test of IELTS 5. Could you help to give suggestions? Thank you so much.

1. I wonder if I can use abbreviation as the answer in listening test. The answer given by the IELTS and my answer are as follows:
IELTS: 1.4 litres, I: 1.4 L (Test 3, Q1)
early twenties, early 20's (Test 1, Q37)

2. I am confused with the following spell issues when I check the IELTS answer:
1) IELTS: Type of transportation: by minibus/a minibus
my answer: mini bus(Test 1, Q1)
2) IELTS: full-time, I: fulltime (Test 1, Q26)
3) IELTS: low-risk investments, I:low risk investments (Test 1, Q40)
Can my answers also be the right one?

3. Tapescripts: each module lasts for one term, say, about twelve weeks at a time.
Q:A module takes___
IELTS: a term, I: 12 weeks
Can my answers also be the right one?
