Hi Simon.
Thank you very much for giving me so much help by this website.
This is my first comment and I have a question about the speaking test. Should I always reply "YES" for the first question? e.g."Do you like chocolate?"
If I reply "NO, I do not like because I don't like sweet food except fruit. Why don't we change a subject?", would it possible to get another subject or would it make me get a low score?
Because I really don't like to eat sweet man-made food.

South Korea's LG Electronics is banking on its new smart fridge, becoming an essential component of kitchens around the world. The smart fridge is a technological marvel, compered to fridges of the past.
It owns a food management system that maintains a list of the food that its storing.
It also records the expiry date of the foods and sends out an alert via Wi-Fi when that date has been reached. Information can be accessed via our smart phones by consumers as they are shopping grocery stores, allowing them to make informed decisions about food purchases. LG adds that its fridges can also suggest healthy recipes, based on what it knows is inside.

So what are the right answers finally?

Answer : B,C,D

(A) (smart fridge becoming an essential component of kitchens around the world) - becoming means it hasn't been essential yet.
(E) The smart fridge can only help consumers to allow themselves making informed decisions about food purchases.
(F) It can tell users which foods are healthier. - this is not mentioned in the article

B, C, D

A,C,D

C D F

Not A: AS it is banking on the new smart fridge to become an essential component, so its not an essential component yet.

Not B: As it is a technological marvel when compared to the other fridges of the past only.

Not E: The fridge can't make informed decisions, but helps consumers to.

I guess Grant's answers are right :-)

B
C
D

CORRECT ANSWERS FROM SIMON:

B

C

D

Note:

"A" is wrong: the company (LG) hope that the fridge will become an essential component of kitchens, but that doesn't mean it IS an essential component now.

"E" is wrong: the fridge doesn't make the decisions. It helps the user to make them.

"F" is wrong: it suggests healthy recipes using the food inside, but it doesn't tell you which foods are healthier.
