B. atoms
removing electrons from = to extract electrons out of
to create a line of ionisation = to create ions

C. storm clouds
to control electrical charges = to guide lightning to Earth

G. rockets (this answer is not in order with the others)
a method = the laser
the opposite technique is using rockets, considered more harmful as the passage mentions that 'they cannot provide the protection from lightning strikes'

aimed firstly = not be pointed straight at the clouds, instead be directed at a mirror.

CORRECT ANSWERS FROM SIMON:

1. B
removing electrons = extracting electrons

2. C
directed at = all the way up to / pointed at

3. G (this is the answer that is not in order)
less dangerous than using rockets = the first paragraph mentions the danger of using rockets in a populated area, and the laser method aims to "discharge lightning safely".

4. D
aimed firstly at = directed at... and from there into the sky

I would like to share my recent exam regarding Reading. I have been taking IELTS for so many times and I always fail in the Reading part. I needed a band 7 for my Nursing requirements. For the first time, I did follow Simon's advice and tips about what to do in the Reading part. I read all the paragraph and forget about skimming and scanning. I answered all the questions on time because I clearly understood what is the content all about due to the reason that I read all throughout. I got my result 2 weeks ago and I finally pass! 7.5 mark! I couldn't believe it! If only I had known this for a long time.

My advise to all of you is to follow Simon's tips and advise.

I sincerely would like to thank you Simon for your integrity, patience and handwork to all of us. Please keep up the good work! May God bless you and your family.

That's great news Anna. Thanks for trusting in my advice!
