I agree Simon! It was a difficult passage as was passage one in test 2 book 10.
In fact I did them tonight and noticed a serious technical issue which I would appreciate if you could advise about:
In your lessons you suggested to do match headings the last. In this passage there are only two question types, the other being true, false, not given. I started with your suggested technique and tried to tackle true/false questions first but it wasted a long time without being able to answer even the first question. Then I gave up and did the matching bit. It was much easier afterward to do true/false bit since I had read the whole passage and I could answer all those question from memory.
Analysing retrospectively, I concluded it is extremely difficult to answer NOT GIVEN questions without reading the whole passage because this question in particular was not in-order according to the passage.
Do you agree with the strategy I've taken to answer this passage? or do you have any other advise in similar situation?

Hello Simon. I got an irrelevant question but I feel like I should ask you about that. When I do Cambridge IELTS tests, sometimes I write the correct answer but in answer key, it is written differently. For instance, in a question, I wrote "door is broken" but the answer key says "door broken//broken door". So, is my answer wrong?

Thank you for your good work. I really appreciate it, and it helps me a lot during the whole preparation process. Wish me luck

one study = was found...(Freeman, 2010)
a strong connection between = a very close positive relationship
understanding their own learning strategies = identify their own ways of learning
as well as = also

Fariborz,

When I did that passage 1 with my students, we managed to do the T, F, NG questions first, and then we found the paragraph headings exercise much easier.

However, you should do what works for you! Keep trying both ways - it's all good practice, and you're improving either way!

...

Pur,

Remember, in the reading test you should always copy the words from the passage exactly as you see them. In the listening test, there are often various possible answers, so you answers are probably fine.
