Hi Simon,

Would it be fine to use personal example or survey like statistics to write IELTS writing task 2?

Many thanks,

Mike

Dear Simon,
Here's my transcript

Photographic film
The use of photographic film was pioneered by Geogre Eastman who started manufacturing paper film in 1885 before switching to celluloid in 1889. His first camera, which he called the "Kodak" was offered for sale in 1888. It was a very simple and relatively low price box camera aimed at average consumers. The Kodak came with enough film for one hundred exposures and needed to be sent back to the factory for processing when the roll was finished

Thanks Matthew for your transcript.

Hi Matthew,
I can say you have transcribed the audio quite well. However, there are some mistakes (or just one, I don't know).
1. low price -> low priced
(you can hear the subtle "t" at the end of the word "price".

2. I hear that in the audio Simon said "consumer" not "consumers", I dunno if it's correct?
Other than that it's great!

Actually it's "aimed at the average consumer". Did not catch that the first time I hear.

Hi NKD,
Thank you for your attention. I played the audio again and saw my mistakes (which you showed me).
Thank you so much. I still have a long way to enhance my listening skill :)

Hi Matthew,
Yep ((: You're welcome. I recommend BBC and CPE listening. I usually keep up with the World Service from BBC for around 15-20 mins a day. It is really paying off ((: Good luck!

Hi NKD,
Thank you for your advice. I will take a look at it. Wish you have a good day :)

Thanks to Matthew I understood that "painied" was "pioneered" and that "be send" was "be sent". Thank you, Matthew, for your transcription!
