Hello Good morning to Simon and all students here:)
I know many of have got Cambridge 9 book and also have tried the test.
Well, I just finish test 1 listening part. I was excited to do this test. My score was 30 in test 1 listening part.
Let's share a little bit about the test.
I felt the gap in between two sections is finished very fast like 5 seconds.
Section 1 was quite easy. I got all correct. In section2 I missed first 2 answers and number 15 and 16.
In section 3 and 4 together I corrected 15 answers out of 20.
Overall, I did best in section 1 and section 4.
I'll be very happy to hear your experience also who did the test.
Have a great day.

Would suggest to read the questions first, record and highlight the keywords then start reading the passage quickly looking for these keywords.
Please note that on difficult passage, keywords will be changed with synonymous words, so you need to be careful here.

Its been 10 days I regularly visit your web page.
From where I come to know about your web page? I was surfing net to find essays that got 8 bands so that I could get better idea how to structure Essay there I found one essay, the person who got 9 Bands in writing, he specially mentioned your web page as a reference from where he got lot of help.
From that day to know I frequently visit your page.
Its really helpful.
I live in Pakistan and register myself for IELTs on coming 18th.
I am really bad in reading, I applied all your advises but still fail to score well in practice test. I dont have ample time to order your ebook, is there anything that could help me to improve reading?
Your words worth alot for me.
Tuesday, May 07, 2013 at 11:26
Its pertinent to mention here, that I appeared in IELTs in 2011 and got overall 6 Bands.
I have all 1-9 Cambridge IELTs books. Last night when I attempt practice test of book 8 I got 34 in Listening and 18 in reading.
Same is almost the average Score I get during Practice test. If it remain the same than It is a worst scenario.

CORRECT ANSWERS FROM SIMON:
I hope you also found the topic of the article interesting. I did!
PS. I agree with Bakr about how to do this type of question: it's probably best to highlight keywords in all of the questions first, then look for similar words in the passage. Start with the question that looks easiest (e.g. questions with distinctive words like 'prototype' or 'motorway').
