Could you who have ever taken IELTS test tell me the strategy to do listening test? I have trouble with time when I usually lack of time to read the questions in advance. So It makes me so hard to keep up with the records and hear the answers. Every advice is a gift for me.

hii Simon

i came to know about ur website a month ago and found the comments and suggestions really helpful .....

i am depressed because i need 7 in each module in one sitting and i have appeared for the test 7 times in one year. every time i sit for the test i am able to get 7or 7.5 in three different modules but miss in one.

i don't know whats wrong , on which module i need to work harder because i have scored 7 or 7.5 in every module at different sittings.

my scores ....

test overall L R W S
1 7 8.5 7 6 7
2 7 7.5 6.5 7 7
3 7.5 8 7.5 6.5 7
4 7.5 8 7.5 6.5 7
5 7 7.5 7 6.5 7
6 7 7.5 7 6 7
7 7 6.5 7.5 7 7.5 (recent 16/5/13)

i know that since beginning my writing part was not that strong but as many times i tried to practice harder for writing my other modules get affected. i am really depressed.

can you advice me how can i prepare myself for the coming exam on 8th of june.

i have searched the strong vocabulary already and practicing daily at-least 2 essays.

my listening is not poor at all i am confident enough but this time i found the listening module was played faster than previous times.

i am really shattered and need some motivational words from someone...... do u knw someone who achieved their target after so many attempts...... coz i have never faced failures lik this before in my lyf so i have no idea how to overcome this depressing situation.....

someone please help me

kind regards
riya

Hi Simon,

Just got the IELTS result on 16th May, 13:
L R W S
7.5 6.5 5.5 7.5

Albeit i was able to answer only 32 questions in reading i got 6.5 which i think is good for the number of answers given. I'm still suffering in reading but i am practicing more now, trying to improve. What i'm really suffering in is writing, please advice... i really need 7 in each module :(((

Hello. Riya. I understand your situation. There are some people getting their ideal scores in a short period of time, but I bet it is a really difficult exam for sure. I know one girl who got that scores (each7) after after it more than 35 times. At that time she was desperate.
I am suffering from the exam as well, even though I have been studying and using English for more than 10 years. I took the exam 5 times so far, but I am working on it. It is so painful. ;( Don't be frustrated and cheer up!! I think your scores seems to be alright to get the score sooner than later.

hi,
i got my result
i got 5.5 in reading, need some help and tips,so please help me.

Dear Kasho, from my point of veiw you can ameliorate your reading skills by reading The guardian, The economist and so on. You should read at least 30 minutes a day (everyday). Noone can tell you that any kind of skills might improve your reading skills. Just read a lot (for 2-3 maybe more months) and you'll see your improvements.

Hi Riya
You are not looser as you already scored 7 or more bands in each module in different test. I also need 7 bands in each module. However, you just need to think positive just push harder than yesterday if you want different tomorrow. Best of luck .

Hi Riya,
Its your hard luck, AND business for IELTS administrators who have made such a hard and cruel policy for expatriates or Non-UK qualified people.Even their own people can't pass or acquire required bands in one go. Keep trying your luck. No body will ask you again in your whole life for the IELTS once you are in your professional career. It can not replace your mother language.Just pass the IELTS to get your goal, so keep hitting.
