Many of my students have problems with spelling. Simple spelling mistakes can lose you marks in the IELTS listening test, even if you have the right answer.
My advice is to keep a spelling list - a list of words that you have difficulty with. Forget about spelling rules; just learn the words by heart.
Are you sure you can spell the following words correctly?
1. quite and quiet
2. address
3. questionnaire
4. career
5. necessary
6. choose and choice
7. business
8. government
9. environment
And message, not massage

hello Simon.
I found your website by jumping from a bbs forum. The contents in this website are very useful to me as I will try the IELTS exam in the next Jun or July.I have not decided to choose which one yet.But as I will take the General-class exams, I really need some guides and directions about General-class exams.I recognize that you are focusing on Acedemic exams. As you know, there are still some differences between the Acdemic and General exams. So I really apperaciate if you would give me some directions or maybe one website of G-examers which you have known. Thanks!

Hi Simon
Thank you for your mention about spelling but the mistakes I often make are forgetting to add "s" for plural words.....The problem really upset me a lot, though I spell it rightly.....
Looking forward to receive any precise suggestion.
