In the IELTS listening test you need to be really careful; the IELTS people will try to trick you!

Sometimes more than one possible answer is mentioned, or the speaker gives an answer and then changes it. Look at these questions (from Cambridge IELTS 5) then listen to the recording.

Yeah Matteo.. They achieved to trick me. So the first is 125, but not 25. Because they mentioned that 25 pounds with current student card...

1-125-the trick here is that the speaker says 25 pound, if you have current student card from another college.
2-8- the trick here is that the speaker first says the no of items allowed for stuents here is 12.
3-friday- the trick here is that the speaker changes suddenly what he spoke.

Hello everyone, if you want to improve your listening skill you have to listen LBC Radio every day about 2-3 hours (for instance when you wash a dish or in a toilet (sorry), bus,train, walk, whatever, wherever). Even if you do not understand, about what are they talking about, just keep listening LBC Radio.

Regarding the answer of listening test,which one would be the format of a answer word,,is it upper case or lower case in the word?
please ,i am confused about that.i know it would be capital letter in name of person or anything,but is it small letter for all others?
if the answer is pets,if i write Pets,is it wrong?

Hi Simon,

as you mentioned in your pervious post, that we can write all listening answers in captical letters or lower case. However, I don't think you can write all answers in lower case. E.g. a person's name or a country's name, you need captial the first letter, right?
And also, if i bracket the articles ('the','a','an') it will not be counted, am i right? E.g the answer should no more than one word. and the answers -- "(the) Alps", and "Apls" should all acceptable, right? as we need the article "the" before "Alps".
