Have a look at this interesting video about predictions for the year 2200. The speaker uses some useful vocabulary (don't forget you can "view subtitles").
Vocabulary from the video (look the words up if you don't know them):
scarcity
declining population
stagnation
have beneficial economic effects
the speculative value of property
lift a heavy burden off the world's poor
scarce labour drives wages
technological innovation
cultural heritage
we're in for another change
rash decisions
PS. You could look up 'Malthus' and 'The Enlightenment' on Wikipedia.

hi Simon
i've a question. what's the best solution to decrease mistakes in 'True, False, Not Given' questions? 50% of my mistakes are from that part in Reading section. i need min 7.0 band and i have a few days till exam.
i've read all your sections excluding Speaking here, all pages but i couldnt find a definite solution for that problem.
could you please tell me what's the best way to make less mistakes on T,F,NG part of Reading section?
thanks for all your help

Hi Musharaf,
I think I sent the Saturday course stuff to your husband's email. I don't think I have your email address.
...
Hi Lynne,
I sent the ebook yesterday just after you left the above message. I hope you received it ok.
...
Hi Zeki,
I'm afraid there isn't a quick solution that I can give you. My advice is to practise those questions in the Cambridge IELTS books, and analyse the correct answers very carefully. Focus especially on your mistakes and try to understand why you made them.
...
Hi Zeladea,
1. Yes, that's right.
2. It means: when there aren't enough people for a particular type of work (scarce labour), wages for that work go up (in order to attract people).
...
Hi Hussain,
Keep practising and following the advice in the lessons here on the site. Many students have improved without any other type of help. On the other hand, if you don't mind paying, a private teacher might be a good investment.

Fewer people fixed on----- of land. Take away land speculation, price of land drops, and that----to lift the heavy burden off the world's poor. Now, I am not talking about the-----drop in poplation.Look what happened in Europe after----, rising wedges, land reform and technological innovation---in the middle class. Fear for the future----some rash decisions.

Hi Simon,
The video is very helpful. I understand most of the words but I needed to listen to the whole sentence to understand it.
