1. More proportion of American people in 1970 than in 2000 got married.
->The proportion of American people married in 1970 was larger than that in 2000
2. There are many things easy enough for those young people to do.
-> There are many things which is (or being) easy enough for those young people to do.
3. I am agreed that volunteer work can build up the responsibilities in youngs.

4. Society gets benefitted as the juvenile crime rate reduced.

5. Having a work experience may help to having a job quicker and easier.

For the reading question, "households spent seven hours a day on transporting themselves and their goods" means [how much time they spent on transporting], but"a survey of household expenditure on transport" means [how much money they expend on transport].
Consequently, I don't think they are similar.

hello,simon:
my answers:
1.more should be changed into higher
2.no mistake though it is not perfect
3.I agree
4.Society gets benefit as the juvenile crime rate declines(we should not use reduce here,or we can say crime juvenile reduces)
5.having(a should be erased, because in this condition ,expreience is non-count) work experience may help getting(or to get) a job quickly and easily
in most case, expenditure is related to money .so the sentence does not mean "a survey of household expenditure on transport"? it can mean a survey of time spent on transport of household.

CORRECT ANSWERS FROM SIMON
1. A higher proportion of American people got married in 1970 than in 2000.
(problems were 'more proportion' and the position of 'got married')
2. There are many things WHICH/THAT ARE easy enough for those young people to do.
OR: Many things are easy enough...
3. I agree that volunteer work can help to teach young people about having responsibilities.
(don't write 'I am agreed' or 'youngs', and we don' really say 'build up the responsibilities')
4. Society benefits (or 'will benefit') as the juvenile crime rate falls.
(not 'gets benefitted' and not 'reduced' in the past tense)
5. Work experience may make finding a job quicker and easier.
('experience' is usually uncountable, so don't write 'having a work experience'. You can't say 'help to having')
Extra question:
The answer is NO. "Expenditure" means "money spent", but not "time spent".

Hi Simon,
I guess you find those mistakes in writing/essays of your students. Then you put them here. I should say that this a great work. I think some of same mistakes make by certain languages. For example, It is seen that Chinese people make same mistakes and Arabic people make other mistakes, because all of them already try to translate from their own language to English.I think it would be better teachers from every language make a list of common mistakes made by translating from origin language to English. I myself saw how my people make same mistakes through translating. It goes same for other language such as Japanese or spanish.

Good point Mh. Mistakes are almost always caused by trying to translate.

Thanks.
