If the answer for listening test is "a BOOK"
and i answer as a "book" so is it considered as a true? and i often do mistakes between singular and plural.so give me some advice about this.
Thank You simon.

dear Simon
when i describe a person ,should i talk in past or present if he is not died?
as you write in speaking
•My father was always a good role model
Posted by: AHMED | Tuesday, March 27, 2012 at 19:02
Ahmed,
if a person is still alive, use present perfect (My father has always been a good role model). If you use past simple, that may indicate that either your father is dead or that he stopped being a good role model.

Thank you!

Hi simon.
I have some confusion in the listening part where you have to write your answer not more than three words and/or a number.
If the answer states 10 to 3, does it still follow the proper format or writing answer for listening. If 10 am for example consider as one word and one number or otherwise? hope you could help. thank you.
Posted by: Nor | Thursday, March 29, 2012 at 04:50
Just try your best Ami!
...
Hi Nor,
'10 to 3' is fine, but I'd probably write 2.50
10am is one word/number.
...
I'll answer some of the other questions this weekend.

Dear Simon
I am asking you the difference between "BOOK" and "A BOOK" in listening test and singular plural mistakes. My exam is on day after tomorrow.so please give me some tip about this.
Thank You..
Posted by: Ami | Thursday, March 29, 2012 at 16:29
Hi Ami,
If the gap isn't in a full sentence, it doesn't matter about the word "a". If the gap is in a sentence the grammar needs to be correct, so you probably need "a".

Hi Simon
If the speaker says her date of birth is on 22nd July 1985, can I put 22nd July without the year? The question specifically stated 'write not more than TWO words and/or A number'.
Thanks in advance!

Posted by: SImon | Monday, April 02, 2012 at 12:08

Last Gap, J"O"6637 or J"0"6637
e.g. my passport number has only one alphabet, and rest are numerical.
if I make mistake between "O" and "0" in this gap, am I going to lose mark.
Kind Regards
