Hi UT,
"put this into perspective" is a good phrase, but I can't think how you could use it for task 1. Here's a definition of what it means:

...
Hi Bahare,
Yes, if the plural is needed, your answer will be wrong if you don't put the "s".

Hi Simon,
Thanks very much for your answer but i also feel confused because in my dictionary, there is an example:
Total investments for this year reached $53 million, and to put this into perspective, investments this year were double those made in 2001.
So i think i can use this phrase in writing task 1 when comparing something similar together. Please explain it to me.
Thank you very much. So sorry for bothering you.

Hi Simon!
I don't know how to find collocations in a speeches, listenings or articles.
Posted by: Thao | Thursday, December 01, 2011 at 04:24
Hi Simon!
I am sorry because not checking grammar before posting comment. "In speeches, listenings or articles", not "In a speeches...".
Posted by: Thao | Thursday, December 01, 2011 at 04:27
Hi UT,
Yes, that example is correct. However, it is used by the writer to explain the importance of "$53 million". This is a kind of analysis of the figures - you are not expected to explain or analyse the figures in writing task 1. You are just supposed to describe what you see. I wouldn't use "put this into perspective" in task 1 if I were you.
...
Hi Thao,
Collocations are just groups of words that are often used together - "increased dramatically" is an example of a collocation.
Have a look at this lesson, and maybe search for collocations on Google to see more:
